FORDHALL FARM
crowdfunding farms?
What will they think of next!
When tennant farmers the Hollins family were threatened with eviction - as their landlord wanted to sell the farm to developers - things got legal. With the limited farm funds soon drained to solicitors fees, it looked like the pioneering organic farm was over. Until farmer Hollin’s children returned - and after some strokes of luck ended up setting up a crowd funder that saw 8000 people chip in £50 each to collectively buy the land! 1 farm: 8000 Landlords!
Given there are almost a thousand diverse experiments in agroecological farming across the UK, Fordhall forms part of an inevitable movement towards a healthier, more nature friendly food system.
